Hallo zusammen,

hier ein paar Fotos wie der Umbau von einem FWD Getriebe auf ein AWD Getriebe aussieht.

Das hier ist aber keine vollständige Anleitung, deswegen gehe ich auf Sachen wie Differenzial-Einmessen und Drehmomente nicht ein. Die sind jedoch im Service-Manual in Kapitel 21 zu finden.

Das Allrad- Getriebe nennt sich ab 1992 41AE (All-Wheel-Drive Electronic), das Getriebe für Frontantrieb nennt sich 41TE (Transverse Electronic).

Vor 1992 nennen sich die Getriebe A604, ohne zwischen…

So basically it’s „just“ the differential and the attached. Power-Transfer-Unit.

However, Transmission differ from year to year. Some people might say a AWD transmission has a different planetary drive than a FWD. Also the size of diffs differ, depending from application and Model Year.

Again, a big thanks for all this data and the pictures. It's very interesting.

By the way, do you have any clue about an AWD gearbox without the reverse mode ? You really seem to know a lot about the Chrysler Voyager. I know it's pretty difficult to be a remote mechanic, but it could always be helpful to have an other point of view. (For information, the gearbox had a bad oil level and since then, the car still works forward. Backward, well, I'm here and I'm a bit afraid about the fact that I may have to open the gearbox).

Do you mean the dashboard/trim, or the gauge cluster? The trim is reeeally painful to remove, so I don't think many will be around. Gauge clusters are a bit easier as everyone takes those out.

For an update, I think I made it ! I had to change the dashboard, but I may have done it. If I don't write anything else about this story, it was the solution and if you have the same issue, take a look behind the steering wheel.

Do you think it's possible to buy some dashboard compatible with my car (from 91 to 93, in 3.3l, other one are not compatible).

Hi everyone,

I have a little problem, as the title says, my engine stops randomly. Here is the story:

I had a problem on my first engine (bad compression on cylinder number 1). Then, the idle was pretty bad (like it was at 2000 rpm). A few days later, the idle was even worst, it wasn't stable at all (like from 500 rpm to 2500). So, I had an idea: swap the motor, maybe it was the compression on the first cylinder which is guilty (i think the ECU takes information on the first cylinder).

So, I took an other engine and put it in my good old voyager. But as you know, there is still an issue. The engine has a good idle but, I don't know why, sometimes, when i accelerate, it just stops.

For context:
-Crankshaft and camshaft sensors are new and the ECU seems like to have information by them, so, I don't think it's the issue.
-When the engine stops and I try to re-start it, sometimes, I have no sparks at all. I have to restart 3/4 times to regain my sparks.
-The speedometer needles stay a their place when the engine brutally stops. (Like, if i was at 2439 rpm, the needle doesn't come back, it just stay a 2439 rpm).
-When I do the trick with the key and count de number of "check engine", well, I don't have a single issue, except 12 (battery) and 55 (reset).

Any help or advice would be appreciate (and helpful).

Hello everyone,

So, I found a DRB II and some cartridges for my Chrysler (which is from september/october 1993). The cartridge that I have is a 83-93 super cartridge V7.0 (the blue one). Sadly I can not do a thing. Is this because I need the V8.0 (the yellow one) or am I missing something else ?

If I need the V8.0, do you know where to buy it ? (If its possible).
Also, if I need some cables, where can i find them (even if it's less important than the cartridge because i'm pretty sure i'm able to make the cable).

By the way, do you have some documentation about how to reprogram an ECU with the DRB II, the appropriate cartridge and a CH5500 ? English or french are my "go to" but german (or even japan, we have good translator right now) is more than ok.

If you remove the plastic air duct with the Toro screws you can see the PCB in the sealing material. In the bottom right corner there is a sticker on the EPROM chip of the ECU, that is the Part Number of the ECU.

With a proper Diagnostic device you can also ask the ECU for its Partnumber, its saved in the device.

You cannot reprogram the VIN in a ECU.

You can write a new VIN to a ECU that is "blank". I have done this before with a DRB II.

There is no "matching" needed for the ECU to function. It is only for spiritual purposes and automatic identification when you plugin the diagnostic device.

I have different types of diagnostic devices for the voyager.

your Voyager is a 1993 euro spec model.

The ECU is also a 1993 ECU euro spec 3.3L automatic transmission front wheel drive version, so its the correct one.

You original ECU holds the programming with the VIN for your vehicle, so there Is only exactly one "real" original ECU.

The most recent ECU for your 1993 3.3L Euro Version is 04887270.

Alternatives could be the following Partnumbers: 04557620, 04762756, 04797966, 04864163.

These Part numbers of course only fit a Euro 3.3L 1993, no others.

When searching for the part numbers online it can help to ignore the leading 0 of the part number.

First of all, thanks for your answer !

By the way, do you know people who are able to repair or identify some ECU? Cause I have an ECU which I can't identify (no number on it).
And by any chance, i know some people are able, with the right hardware/software interface, to "reprogram" the ECU to an other VIN. So after the operation, the ECU can match with ""any"" vehicule. Do you know one of them or someone with the right tool ?
